Connect PlayByPoint to Patch Using Webhooks
Use this guide to connect your Playbypoint account to Patch so Playbypoint activity can sync into Patch through webhooks.
Before you begin
You will need access to:
- Your Playbypoint account
- Your Playbypoint webhook settings
- Your Patch support contact or Customer Success Manager
Patch will provide you with a webhook Target URL. You will enter that URL in Playbypoint, generate an HMAC code, and send the code back to Patch so we can complete the setup.
Step 1: Ask Playbypoint to enable webhooks
Contact Playbypoint support and ask them to enable webhooks for your account. They have a support widget on their site or email support@playbypoint.com.
You can use this message:
Hi PlayByPoint team,
We are setting up our Patch integration and need webhooks enabled for our PlayByPoint account. Please let us know once webhooks are turned on so we can complete the setup.
Wait until Playbypoint confirms that webhooks have been enabled before continuing.
Step 2: Get your Patch webhook Target URL
After PlayByPoint confirms that webhooks are enabled, contact your Patch Onboarding Manager or Customer Success Manager.
Patch will then send you the Target URL to use in PlayByPoint.
Step 3: Add the Target URL in Playbypoint
In your PlayByPoint account:
- Go to your webhook settings.
- Add the Target URL provided by Patch.
- Confirm that the URL is saved correctly.
The Target URL tells Playbypoint where to send webhook events for your Patch integration.
Step 4: Enable HMAC authentication
In the Playbypoint webhook settings:
- Check the HMAC checkbox.
- Generate an HMAC code.
- Copy the generated HMAC code.
HMAC helps secure the webhook connection between Playbypoint and Patch.
Step 5: Send the HMAC code to Patch
Send the generated HMAC code back to your Patch support contact or Customer Success Manager.
Patch will enter the HMAC code into your Patch account settings and complete the integration setup for you.
What happens next
After Patch adds the HMAC code, the Playbypoint webhook connection will be configured in Patch. Patch may confirm that events are being received before marking setup as complete.
Troubleshooting
I do not see webhook settings in Playbypoint
Contact PlayByPoint support and confirm that webhooks have been enabled for your account.
I do not see an HMAC option
Ask Playbypoint support to confirm that HMAC authentication is available and enabled for your webhook setup.
I already generated an HMAC code but did not save it
Generate a new HMAC code in Playbypoint and send the new code to Patch.
I entered the Target URL but nothing is syncing
Contact Patch support. Patch can verify whether webhook events are being received and whether the HMAC code has been configured correctly.
