Templates are reusable Email layouts or SMS content that can be saved and inserted into Automations or Blasts for ease of use later.
Your account comes pre-loaded with the most common Email and SMS content types as global templates for you to use. Global templates are labeled as Patch Templates.
Once a Global template is inserted you can adjust the content on a one-time basis but the changes made will not override the Global Template.
You can sort by Group, Type or Tag using the dropdown selector here:
To search templates type a keyword into the search bar and hit enter. These results rendered will show any templates that include the keyword(s) including template content. You can sort by Type, Group, and Tag(s) in combination with the search as well.
You do have the ability to create your own Email and SMS templates for your account.
To create a new Template from scratch, click the purple (+) button in the lower right corner:
Give your Template a name and then select either SMS/MMS or Email.
Once you've selected, either the SMS Content Editor or Email Editor will open.
From there you will build your email or text and save it to use later. Don't forget to apply tags to your new template to make it easy to locate, sort, and filter for later throughout various modules like Blasts and Automations!
To duplicate an existing Template click the double paper icon here:
Then rename the template so you can access it easily later (recommended to delete "(COPY)" and label the template accordingly).
Once you click 'OK' the duplicated template will open in the appropriate content editor based on the template type of Email or SMS.
From there you will edit the template using either the Email Editor or SMS Content Editor and save your changes. The new template will then be available in both Automations and Blasts for when you are ready to build your campaigns.
Note: When using the Email Editor be sure to save your work regularly using the Floppy Disk icon in the top right corner. Building Emails can often take time and if you build the entire message without saving as you go there is a risk that servers can timeout and you may lose your work. Saving often throughout this process will help prevent this from happening and in the event it does the amount of work lost will be limited.
