What is the Event Log?
The Event Log is a comprehensive record of all significant actions and events that occur within your Patch account. It captures a wide range of activities, such as user logins, form submissions, email sends, and more. The Event Log is designed to give you full visibility into your account's operations, helping you understand user behavior, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with internal policies.
Key Features
- Detailed Activity Records: Each entry in the Event Log includes detailed information about the event, such as the type of action, the contact’s information, the timestamp, and any relevant data associated with the event.
- Date Range Selector: The Event Log includes a versatile Date Range Selector, enabling you to efficiently filter and view events within specific timeframes. This feature helps you quickly identify and analyze activities that occurred during selected periods.
- Real-Time Monitoring: Events are logged in real-time, providing you with up-to-date information about the activities within your Patch account.
How to Access the Event Log
- Log in to Your Patch Account: Use your credentials to log in to your Patch account.
- Navigate to the Event Log: From the main dashboard, click on the ‘Event Log’ in the left sidebar menu.
- View and Analyze Events: The ‘Event Log’ will display a list of recent events. Use the ‘Filter Events’ option to narrow down the results based on your needs.
- Multiple Views: You can toggle between the Table View or the Activity View based on your needs/preferences.
Table View includes the ability to adjust the columns displayed for additional data points. - Account Selector: If you are an admin of an account that has a Parent/Child relationship you can use the account selector to decide if you want to only see events from the Parent or Individual Child accounts.
Understanding Event Types
The Event Log captures a variety of events, including but not limited to:
- Check-in Finished: Track when a check-in process is completed.
- Check-in Started: Monitor the initiation of check-ins.
- Contact Created: Record the creation of new contacts in your account.
- Contact RFM: Log events related to Recency, Frequency, and Monetary (RFM) analysis of contacts.
- Contact Updated: Capture updates made to contact information.
- Conversation Finished: Track the completion of conversations.
- Conversation Started: Monitor the start of new conversations.
- Conversion: Record successful conversions.
- Discount Created: Log the creation of discount offers. (Shopify Only)
- Incoming Message: Capture incoming messages from contacts.
- Offer Redeemed: Track the redemption of offers by contacts.
- Order Abandoned: Monitor orders that were initiated but not completed. (Shopify Only)
