The Discount Code block within Patch Automations empowers business owners to automatically generate personalized discount codes for their customers based on various behaviors such as purchases, birthdays, engagement, and referrals. With the ability to customize code details including prefixes, type, usage limits, expiration dates, and more, businesses can effortlessly reward their customers and drive sustainable revenue. Step 1: Accessing Patch Automations
- Log in to your Patch Retention account.
- From the dashboard, navigate to the "Automations" tab.
- Click on "Create New Automation" and select Start from Scratch
- Give your Automation a Name and click Create
Step 2: Setting Up Your Automation
- Choose a Trigger: Select the event or behavior that will trigger the generation of a discount code. This could be a customer's purchase, birthday, engagement, referrals, or any other action you want to reward.
- At Time: Anniversaries, Birthday, Holidays, etc.
- Chat Completed (Messenger/TextChat)
- Check-In Finished (Physical Locations)
- Contact Created: New Subscribers/Customers
- Contact RFM: Customer moves from one bucket to another - New, Promising, Loyal, At-Risk, Lost, plus any subsegments
- Contact Updated
- Incoming SMS: Contact texts and you set specific criteria using filter rules like containing a particular word
- Order Finished: Purchase or X number of Purchases
- Delivery: Order is received by Customer - great for encouraging additional purchases/discount on next purchase
- SmartLink Clicked: Clicked a Patch link
- Form Finished: Contact completes a specific form
Step 3: Setting up the Discount Code Block
Create a code based on dollar value, percentage, or free shipping. Discount Codes generated will be unique for every recipient.
- Discount Prefix: Set a prefix for your discount codes when generating a unique code for each contact
- Types: Choose the type of discount - Percentage off, Fixed $ Amount, or Free Shipping
- Value: Set the amount off for Percentage or Fixed Amount, or the Maximum Amount for Free Shipping
- Applies To: Choose from All Products, Specific Collections, Specific Products
- Minimum Requirements: None or Minimum Purchase Amount $
- Customer Eligibility: Required to be “Assign to Contact”
- Usage Limit: Required to be “Limit to One Use Per Customer”
- Active Dates: Specify an expiration date or choose to have no expiration for the code.
- Copy the SmartText provided in the last section, you will paste this into your Message so the Contact can see what their code is
- Additional Options: Explore additional settings, such as minimum purchase requirements, exclusions, or limitations.
Step 4: Setting Up Messaging
- After configuring the discount code block, proceed to set up the messaging that will be sent to customers once the code is generated.
- Select either Send SMS, Send Email, or use both blocks
- Craft a personalized message to inform customers about their exclusive discount code. You can use dynamic variables to include the customer's name, the discount amount, and other relevant details.
Step 4: Enabling the Automation
- Review the configuration of each of your blocks to ensure everything is accurate
- Send a Test for each of the Messaging blocks included
- Approve each block accordingly
- Connect the paths between each of the blocks
- Toggle the enable button in the top right corner of the Automation Canvas
