If your customer opts in to receive messaging within Shopify it will carry over into your Patch account. Whether the opt-in is done via the checkout page or if someone manually updates the Customer’s status from their profile page.
There are various states and levels of the opt-in status for both Email and SMS. Below you will find the breakdown of how each state and level maps into your Patch account. Please note that if you update an opt-in status from your Patch account that will not then update the customer profile in Shopify, the sync process for this only works from Shopify -> Patch, not in the reverse.
