We recommend using SmartLinks to better track your clicks and overall engagement for all of your marketing efforts.
SmartLinks can be added to any Content block within the Email Editor, whether it be a Blast or an Automation!
This article will outline the various ways you can insert SmarLinks for each content block type.
Heading Block
Drag and drop the Heading block onto the Email Editor canvas. Click on the Heading block and you will see the settings menu open for the Heading. Locate the 'INSERT' button. Click the 'INSERT' button, you will be presented with several different SmartOptions. Click 'SmartLinks'. Next, you will see a dialog where you can choose from an Existing SmartLink or create a New SmartLink. If you have previously created the SmartLink select Existing. If you need to create a SmartLink select New. Once done, the SmartLink will appear in the Heading block in an oblong oval purple 'v-chip'. The link will show as {{ link({"id":"..."}) }}, if you use the Preview tab you can see that the link will render as https://c-g.co/123456789. The last part of the URL known as the slug will be dynamic for each person who received the email unless you have your SmartLink set to be untraceable. We only recommend setting a SmartLink as untraceable if you want your end users to be able to share the link with others. Be sure to send yourself a test to ensure the SmartLink is functioning as expected.
